NSW footy fans have been given a huge boost with the launch of regular radio coverage of GWS GIANTS and Sydney Swans home games across almost all of New South Wales.

Crocmedia today announced it would broadcast all GIANTS and Swans home games across the Super Radio Network throughout regional NSW and into 2SM Sydney.

The broadcast, to be known as Giants Radio and Swans Radio, will reach more than 20 markets and 50 frequencies across the state. That reach will see GIANTS and Swans fans, as well as more than three quarters of NSW, experiencing the thrill of both clubs via their local radio station.

Crocmedia CEO Craig Hutchison said the parochial games will aim to connect fans with their local clubs across NSW greater than ever before, broadcasting into towns such as Newcastle, Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Port Macquarie and more.

“The coverage of the game in the northern markets was paramount to the AFL strategy, and important to our business,” Hutchison said.

“We are delighted we have been able to work with Mr Caralis to achieve this for the great game of AFL across NSW.

“We appreciate the support of the Super Radio Network for allowing us to connect with our audiences, it’s tremendously important that we create great experiences for new fans of the game, and where possible teach them and take them on the ride and the thrill of the great game of AFL.

“We will be broadcast through a local lens, using local talent, unashamedly talking up the Swans and GIANTS impact across the state.”

Hutchison also thanked AFL NSW/ACT and the two clubs for their support of the project.

“We take our partnership with the AFL extremely seriously,” Hutchison said.

“We think this is an exciting time for the growth of the game and look forward to working with AFL NSW/ACT, Sydney and the GIANTS to create the best listening experience around these games.”

AFL NSW/ACT CEO Sam Graham said; “Being able to reach new audiences and fans is a key pillar for growing the game of AFL. This partnership with Crocmedia and Super Radio Network will extend the footprint of the Swans and GIANTS in Sydney and throughout NSW and we’re thrilled that fans can now tune into a broadcast that has a distinctly local flavour.”

Swans and Giants Radio broadcast coverage:
