TWO of South Australia’s most acclaimed footballers, Kane Cornes and Ben Hart, are joining forces as Crocmedia’s nightly South Australian radio sporting fix.
The duo, who both played 300 games and won premierships, are uniting for Crocmedia’s all new SA version of Sportsday. Crocmedia today revealed it had worked with NOVA Entertainment, Grant Broadcasters and Southern Cross to achieve whole state distribution of the show.
Sportsday will air live from 6pm weeknights live on Adelaide’s FIVEaa.
Most regional markets, however, will take their own live version of the show from 5pm.
Leading brands McDonalds, KIA and Lumo Energy are among those to have already committed their support to both versions of the show, which brings together two of South Australia’s favourite sons. The show will be produced by Ben Cameron, based in Adelaide.
Crocmedia Content Director, Dave Carter, said the duo epitomised the company’s commitment to tailored, parochial content.
“It’s great to be able to offer South Australian sports fans such strong local identities with equally strong views,” Carter said.
“Kane is already on the way to becoming one of the state’s hottest media personalities. Pairing him with Ben, a much-loved 300 gamer and AFL Hall of Famer, will bring a wealth of knowledge and contrast for both Power and Crows fans.
“With both Kane and Ben being relatively fresh out of the game, the show will have a really unique perspective in that space. But more importantly, the guys just love all kinds of sport and they can’t wait to get started.”
Cornes played 300 games for Port Adelaide and was a key figure in Port Adelaide’s first ever flag in 2004. The hosting role comes on the back of already being appointed host of Crocmedia’s TV program Footy SA, to air on Channel Nine Adelaide.
He’ll also feature on The Sunday Footy Show in what shapes as a breakout year for the emerging media star.
Hart played 311 games for Adelaide and was instrumental in their back-to-back premierships in 1997 and 1998. More recently, he was the defensive coach at Collingwood.
